Thang Long – The capital of Dai Viet was once very prosperous through the Ly – Tran – Le – Nguyen dynasties. Experiencing the ups and downs of history, the vestiges of ancient Thang Long remain only the nostalgia of a magnificent capital. From the citadel to the purple floor in the palace, although it has been lost, some of the remaining relics still partially represent the Thang Long citadel. One of them is the relic lying directly with the Hanoi flagpole – Doan Mon Gate. This is one of the main gates leading to the entrance to the Forbidden City.

Not only a historical relic of special importance of the ancient Thang Long citadel, Doan Mon is now also a familiar destination for thousands of domestic tourists and international friends. The architecture is built with 5 city gates built with symmetrical arches. The largest middle door is dedicated to the king, 4 smaller doors on both sides are the entrance to the Forbidden City of the mandarins and royal princes.

Leading the way to the 2nd floor is a small communal house with 2 floors and 8 roofs. The spacious courtyard and floor is where the king resides to train his soldiers or watch martial arts performances below. The architecture of rolling arch doors not only has a good bearing structure but also brings graceful curves in the pictures.
