The launch ceremony was conducted in a solemn and dignified manner, featuring a series of distinctive activities. The program opened with a welcoming art performance comprising songs about Hanoi and the Homeland, creating a sacred and emotionally resonant atmosphere in the space in front of the Flag Tower.
Delivering the opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Director of the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, stated: “Memories of the Flag Tower tour has been developed as a heritage experience model that integrates historical values, digital technology, and emotional engagement. The tour aims to transform the Hanoi Flag Tower from a traditional sightseeing destination into an interactive experiential space, where visitors not only observe but also feel and engage in dialogue with history.”

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang further emphasized that, in response to the demands for innovation amid rapid digital transformation, heritage conservation and value promotion must be continuously enhanced and developed. Accordingly, the “Memories of the Flag Tower” tour represents a creative approach that harmoniously combines history, technology, and emotional storytelling, redefining the Hanoi Flag Tower as a dynamic and immersive heritage space.
At the event, Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, highlighted: “The launch of the cultural and tourism product ‘Memories of the Flag Tower,’ which applies technology and integrates performances, interpretation, and immersive experiences within a historical space, will vividly recreate the stories and memories associated with the Hanoi Flag Tower. This initiative will help the public—especially younger generations—gain a deeper understanding of patriotic traditions and the values of our cultural heritage.”

“Memories of the Flag Tower” is a new cultural–tourism product of the heritage site, designed to serve a wide range of domestic and international visitors, particularly young people who are passionate about national history and culture, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 – December 19, 2025).
The Hanoi Flag Tower (also known as Ky Dai Hanoi) is a representative monument within the complex of relics belonging to the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Hanoi World Heritage Site. Beyond its significance as a unique military architectural structure, the Hanoi Flag Tower is a historical monument of exceptional value, closely associated with the formation and development of the Capital and the nation.

Standing resilient through time, the Hanoi Flag Tower has borne witness to many pivotal historical moments, embodying the indomitable spirit of resistance, the aspiration for independence, and the longing for freedom of the people of Hanoi in particular and of the Vietnamese nation as a whole.
On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 – December 19, 2025) – a sacred milestone in national history – the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, in collaboration with Hanoi Tourism Corporation, organized the launch ceremony of the tourism product “Memories of the Flag Tower” and officially inaugurated the experience tour of the same name. This initiative represents a new cultural – tourism product of the heritage site, aimed at serving a broad audience of domestic and international visitors, especially younger generations with a strong interest in history and national culture.
In the context of rapid digital transformation, heritage conservation and value promotion are facing the need for innovation in both mindset and approach. Ancestral heritage should not only be preserved as static historical lessons, but also retold in the language of the contemporary era, enabling history to resonate more closely with the public – particularly younger generations.

Guided by this perspective, the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and Hanoi Tourism Corporation have researched, developed, and officially launched the “Memories of the Flag Tower” experience tour – a pilot, creative cultural tourism product that applies digital technology and harmoniously integrates historical values, heritage spaces, and emotional experiences.
The “Memories of the Flag Tower” tour is not merely a sightseeing journey, but a journey to awaken memories, guiding visitors into the historical flow of Thang Long – Hanoi through carefully curated stories, images, spaces, and experiential activities.
Through this product, the organizers hope that each visitor – especially young people -will gain a deeper appreciation of heritage values, thereby cherishing the past, fostering national pride, and strengthening awareness of preserving the cultural and historical legacy passed down by previous generations.
