Currently, in schools, flag-raising at the beginning of the week for teachers and students is a noble and meaningful activity. This is a solemn ritual expressing patriotism, national pride and gratitude to the generations of ancestors who sacrificed their lives to gain independence and freedom for the Fatherland. Besides, flag-raising time also has a profound educational meaning, helping students know how to unite, share, and learn “good people’s examples – good deeds” to absorb good things and common sense, practice life skills, develop capacity and foster good qualities.

With the desire to improve education and at the same time create a useful and practical playground for students outside of school, the construction and implementation of the flag-raising ceremony for teachers and students of Hanoi Capital at Doan Mon yard at the foot of the Hanoi Flag Tower, Thang Long – Hanoi Imperial Citadel Heritage Site with the theme “Historic Flag Saluting Ceremony” is a meaningful, historical educational activity about the Capital of Hanoi in Heritage area.

Attending the thematic heritage education program re-enacting the historic flag-raising ceremony were representatives of the Veterans Association, the Women’s Association (Ba Dinh district) and a large number of students from the following schools: Van Chuong Primary School; Phan Chu Trinh Primary School; Hanoi Star Primary, Middle School & High School – Hoang Mai); Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School; Phan Huy Chu High School – Dong Da and Hanoi Capital University.

At the ceremony, delegates and students marched through Doan Mon yard to relive the sacred historical moment; Saluting the flag, singing the National Anthem, recalling the nation’s heroic history through revolutionary songs.
