On the full moon evening of January (February 24) in the year of Giap Thin, despite the rainy and cold weather, poetry lovers still went to Thang Long Imperial Citadel to walk on the poetic path to read and contemplate beautiful poems about the nation.

At poetry shops, there are crowds of people coming to enjoy poetry, along with poetic comments and recitations, making the festival rich in poetic color. Among those who came to enjoy poetry, there were also children with their parents and grandparents. This is a meaningful way to spend Spring at the beginning of the year for the people of the Capital – a civilized way to go to festivals and also a way to educate children to love poetry from an early age.

In his opening speech, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu – Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association shared that cold wind and flying rain are a challenge for poetry, but for the Vietnamese people there is even more challenge, suffering and loss. Cool, the “flowers” of the heart, of each face are opened.
