President Ho Chi Minh – A genius leader, an old father of the nation, a great teacher of the Vietnamese Revolution, a hero of national liberation, a world cultural celebrity, a communist soldier exemplary sacrifice, close friend of all peoples loving peace and social progress around the world.
During his time, Uncle Ho was also a person who paid much attention to cultural heritage, had a heart to cherish the precious capital left by his father. Immediately after the successful August Revolution, on November 23, 1945, Uncle Ho signed Decree 65 “Assigning the mission of Indochina to the ancient academy” on the preservation of all tales in the whole of Vietnam. This is the first decree of our State on the preservation of the national cultural heritage. The decree was born in the context that the young Democratic Republic of Vietnam is facing many difficulties in terms of the enemy of hunger, enemy ignorance, and foreign invaders. The country is in a situation of “a thousand pounds hanging hair”. Uncle Ho affirmed that “the preservation of fairy is a very important and very necessary work for the construction of Vietnam” (the concept of “fairy” in the Decree today is called cultural heritage, including di Intangible cultural assets and tangible cultural heritage). Since the Ordinance was born up to now, it has been more than 70 years, but still retains its theoretical and practical meaning, illuminating the cause of protecting and promoting the cultural heritage of the country.
